CEInfinite Capillary Coatings
Capillary coatings are used to ensure stability during icIEF separation. The following coatings are sold with the icIEF cartridges used on the CEInfinite and are designed to address a variety of urgent needs.
Each coating comes with column IDs of 100 µm, 200 µm, and 320 µm, compatible with all CEInfinite icIEF systems.
Fluorocarbon-based Capillary Coating (FC)
- Highly reliable popular hydrophobic icIEF coating
- Suitable for pH 2-11
Acrylamide Derivative Capillary Coating (AD)
- Highly reliable hydrophilic coating;
- More stable than PA
- No methylcellulose additive is necessary
- For preparative icIEF and icIEF-MS online coupling
- Suitable for pH 2-11
Methylcellulose Capillary Coating (MC)
- Hydrophilic coating
- Avoid the need for using MC solution during icIEF analysis including pre-rinse and dynamic reagent added
- Work for icIEF QC, icIEF-MS online, and preparative icIEF
- Suitable for pH 2-11
Cross-Linked Silicone Coating (CS)
- Next-generation hydrophobic coating (Coming Soon)
Why Choose AES Capillary Coating Cartridges?
- Complex Samples: A wide selection of hydrophobic and hydrophilic coatings can improve resolution and reproducibility for the next generation of biotherapeutics with more diverse surface properties (ex. hydrophobic ADCs and LNPs).
- icIEF Fractionation and icIEF-MS: Proper selection of the capillary coating becomes critical for cartridge lifetime, resolution (reduce capillary wall interactions during mobilization), and reproducibility (reduce capillary wall adsorption due to higher sample loading).
- Remove MC from Solution: Avoid MC in solution with AD and MC coatings to improve MS compatibility and avoid reproducibility concerns stemming from bubble generation and increased viscosity (ex. pipetting errors).
- Environmental Regulations: The CS coating is coming soon to address the uncertainty facing FC coatings with the EU proposing restrictions on per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substance (PFAS) materials due to health and environmental concerns.
